Here are the steps to follow

Turning on

Press the power button on the unit to turn it on

Still image

Press the shooting mode button to select the still image capture mode

Wifi activation

Press the button to activate the wireless function, the wifi indicator flashes blue.

NB: it is not necessary to do this if the wifi indicator blinks blue when the power is turned on.

Smartphone connection

To allow communication between your smartphone and the Ricoh Theta, you now need to connect your smartphone to the Ricoh Theta wifi network.

This network usually appears under an identifiable name: “THETAXS …….”, the password being the last 8 digits of it.

When the wireless connection is established, the wireless link indicator lights up permanently in blue on the Ricoh Theta, and the wifi sign appears on your smartphone.

Launch the THETA S application, which you downloaded either on:

Implementation

Attach your Ricoh Theta on your tripod.

  • Position your tripod at a location where you can visualize the entire room to be virtualized and not located in the reflection of a mirror.
  • Extend your tripod up so that your Ricoh Theta is at least halfway up the room (usually around 1.50m), so you can see the whole room.
  • The buttonless face of the Ricoh Theta will be the default orientation of your panorama, so point that face to the most representative part of the location.
  • Think of creating a good light atmosphere for a better result (open the curtains & turn on all your lamps).

Shooting

Start the panorama capture mode by clicking on the icon shown below

Choose the desired settings, which you can instantly see in the preview window.

Exit the field of view and press the shutter button to take the panorama:

All you have to do now is select the panoramas you want to transfer from Ricoh Theta to your smartphone.
They will be available in your gallery and you’re ready to publish your free virtual tour on VisitOnWeb.
